Greener and efficient ways of using compressed air

Did you know compressed air is viewed as the fourth utility, after electricity, water, and natural gas.

Compressed air is the only option for some industries that require the safety of a non-heat-producing power source and has many uses, as it is one of the most widely used forms of energy in many industries.

However, compressing air is an inefficient and expensive process. Air is free but compressed air is not. Because it needs to be compressed, cooled, dried, transported and regulated.

Energy consumption of your air compressor will account for 70% or more of its life cycle cost.

There are certain things that can be done to ensure greener and efficient ways of using compressed air. Such as

  1. Reducing leaks
  2. Right operating pressure
  3. Turn off the unit when they are not being used
  4. Install at cool place and under proper shed
  5. Using a VSD compressor if demand is fluctuating
