I started my career with Chicago Pneumatic just over three years ago as the Communication Manager. A passion for learning about the world of compressors opened the opportunity for me to join the outside sales team. With no sales experience, I was given a chance.
In January 2020, I became the Southeast Sales Manager handling 13 states. With five kind words from my manager – “I won’t let you fail” – I hit the ground running. Sure, I’ve made mistakes along the way. Some bigger than others and some more expensive than others too. And I’ve asked more questions than in any other job I’ve had.
But then this isn’t just a job. Distributors don’t just buy compressors. They buy from people. And it’s those connections that make us different. For example, did you know that only 10% of the industrial sector’s workforce is made up of women? To hear from a distributor, “You’re the first female rep I’ve ever had,” sets my soul on fire.
It’s one of the reasons why I clicked immediately with Professional Compressed Air Services, who needed to help a mushroom farm whose compressor had gone down. PCAS is a female-owned, family operated business. I guess you could say that we share the same values.
