What is the Difference Between Contractor, Professional and Industrial Series Piston Compressors?

Used in applications where compressed air requirements are low, Chicago Pneumatic piston compressors are available in many versions, making them suited to any production activity. Mobile, low or high-pressure, on-frame or vessel-mounted, they are designed to meet intermittent compressed air demands. Because every industry requires different compressed air needs, we manufacture 3 series of piston compressors designed specifically for various applications.

Contractor Series

The Contractor Series is ideally suited for home use and construction applications. These units are typically used for low air requirements have the lowest initial investment. Both electric and gas options are available in HP sizes from 2 - 16.

Professional Series

The Professional Series offers stationary, larger piston compressors that are perfect for automotive shops and small to mid-sized local businesses. Both horizontal and vertical options are offered from 5 - 15 HP sizes. In addition to the standard pistions, Quiet Performance options are also available that utilize a low-sound enclosure to make the compressor more quiet.

Industrial Series

The Industrial Series are the highest quality in the piston product line. These compressors are designed for medium to large factories and are cast iron units built for durability and larger air requirements such as automotive manufacturers and commercial applications. Electric units are offered from 5 - 20 HP and can deliver 70 acfm on 3 phase power.
